The Nuggets wrap up the season series with the hapless Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the Pepsi Center. Minnesota has only won two of its last 20 games, they are 1-19 on the road, with their lone win coming against the Hornets believe it or not, and they roll into Denver coming off of a 20 point drubbing last night in Phoenix.
Denver has won the previous first three meetings this season, but Minnesota has had fourth quarter leads in two of the three games. In the first meeting in Denver this season the Wolves actually lead in the last two minutes of the game.
Rashad McCants went off for 34 in the last game against the Nuggets which kick started a started a stretch where he is averaging 19.7 points over his last seven games. Hopefully tonight he will repeat his first performance in Denver where he went 1-15 and scored only five points.
Kenyon Martin is out again which means two things.
First of all Camby will have to guard Al Jefferson and Jefferson is the exact type of player that Camby struggles to guard one on one. The Nuggets will have to implement the same defensive strategy that they employed against the Jazz (check out the clips from the Jazz game in the Film Room for more info).
Secondly, we will all get to see to see what Linas Kleiza will do to follow up his 41 point outburst from Thursday night. I think all Nugget fans are interested in that.
Again we have to worry about the Nuggets motivation playing a weak team at home after a dominant performance. I believe they will handle their business and take care of the Timberwolves tonight in relatively easy fashion.
As usual, feel free to post your thoughts and comments below during the game.
