The Denver Nuggets have selected Doug McDermott with the 11th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He scored 26.7 points per game last season and shot 44.9% from deep on 6.1 attempts per season. He’s a diverse player on the offensive end and can score in many ways.
McDermott isn't only a shooter, he can also rebound and defend a little bit too. He has been at Creighton for four seasons and is 22 years old. He'll be 23 years old in January. He's is ready to play right away and has been scoring on teams that have been specifically designed to stop him.
This is an interesting pick for the Nuggets and goes under the “Best Player Available” entry as he plays the same position as Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler. McDermott may be on the move to Chicago though … we’ll update you all as soon as we know.
I’m told Doug McDermott will head to Chicago via trade with Denver. Getting more details now.

To follow on McDermott, he goes to Bulls and No. 16 and No. 19 go to Denver. Parts finally flying around…

The Bulls also send a future second-round pick to Denver in the McDermott trade, source says.
