It's been 181 days since Brian Shaw was fired, 110 since Michael Malone was named head coach, 95 days since the NBA draft and 80 days sine Emmanuel Mudiay's first summer league game. Yet today is the official start of the Mudiay / Malone era in Denver.
The Denver Nuggets players, management team, and coaching staff are all gathered at Pepsi Center today to meet the media ahead of the start of training camp tomorrow. As our own Andrew Feinstein points out, there are a lot of questions surrounding the team on the first day of this new era. Coach Malone will hopefully share some more of his vision for the team, Tim Connelly will share more of his thoughts on the team's future, and the players will all show off their new uniforms, boast about their newfound 3-point touch or 15 lbs of muscle, and outline their goals for the season ahead.
While all team members will face a fair amount of pointed questions, media day is also a celebration. It marks the end of the long, quiet, NBA off-season. It marks new beginnings for rookies and a chance for every team to start anew. And while the first regular season game is still a month away, the excitement for the season ahead begins to build today.
So grab a seat, bookmark this page, and check back frequently as the Denver Stiffs team will be updating this live stream throughout the day. We'll have interviews with Mudiay, Kenneth Faried, Danilo Gallinari, and the rest of the team along with plenty of photos and videos to get you fired up for the upcoming season.
