According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Denver Nuggets have signed former Colorado Buffaloes guard Xavier Silas to a training camp deal.
Silas played for Colorado from 2006 to 2008 before transferring to Northern Illinois, where he played two seasons. He was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2012, was signed by the Wizards after that, and got a 10-day from the Celtics last season. He played with the Northern Arizona Suns in the G-League last season.
What does it mean for the Nuggets? Basically nothing. They already have 15 guaranteed contracts and two two-way contracts. They likely need another guard for training camp to field different squads.
For Silas, at 30 years old, this is just a chance for him to meet more faces and be in more places. He’ll likely either return to the G League or go back overseas, where he has played for several teams.
