The Nuggets took a gamble when they selected Michael Porter Jr. with the 14th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. That decision is starting to pay off as Porter has been playing incredible basketball as of late, which continued Monday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Denver was able to walk out of Minnesota with a 107-100 victory behind Porter’s 20 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists. Porter did all that on an efficient 7-of-12 shooting from the field, 4-of-8 from behind the three-point line.
Monday night was Porter’s second double-double of the season, which have both come in the past three games. Over the Nuggets last five games, Porter is averaging a stellar 16 points per game, which is third on the team behind Nikola Jokic (20.4) and Will Barton III (16.8). During that same timeframe, Porter is second on the team averaging 8.8 rebounds per game (Jokic, 11.6) and is first in three-point percentage as he is making over 50-perfect (52.6) of his shots from distance.
Porter seems to be growing more confident by the game and Monday night’s performance was another indication of that. To watch all the highlights from Porter’s big night, click the link below!
