Well, if there was ever any doubt about who the NBA MVP should be there is none after what Nikola Jokic did Monday night at Ball Arena. In a game the Nuggets looked dead in the water, Jokic put the Nuggets on his back — like he has done all season — to lead Denver to a thrilling 139-137 victory in double-overtime over the Memphis Grizzlies.
It may end up being Jokic’s signature performance en route to potentially winning MVP as he poured in 47 points on 20-of-31 shooting from the field to go along with 15 rebounds and eight assists. Jokic also made two three-pointers, none being as important as the one he drained in double-overtime:
Jokic also made two clutch free-throws at the end of regulation to help force overtime as he continued to make big shots to help lead the Nuggets to victory. It truly was an unreal performance by Jokic, who put together an MVP level performance to help Denver pull off a remarkable win. What a game.
