The dust is starting to settle. You’re not dreaming. The Denver Nuggets are in fact taking part in the Western Conference Finals.
Denver had all of the momentum in Game 7, and viewers could feel the tide start to turn in the game prior. As a Nuggets fan, I never wanted to talk about the Western Conference Finals until the final buzzer sounded. Now, we are here. The Nuggets will take on the Los Angeles Lakers for a chance to advance to the NBA Finals.
This will be the biggest test of them all. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are one of the best duos in the NBA. Of course, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were supposed to be the other top duo, but as in turns out, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray outplayed them through the seven game series. If any team can take down the Lakers, it’s these Denver Nuggets. The unheralded stars of the Rocky Mountains.
Just so nobody misses the games going forward, here’s the game by game schedule of Nuggets versus Lakers, starting Friday evening on TNT.
(All times are specific to the Mountain Time Zone)
Game 1: Friday, Sep. 18 at 7 p.m. on TNT
Game 2: Sunday, Sep. 20 at 5:30 p.m. on TNT
Game 3: Tuesday, Sep. 22 at 7 p.m. on TNT
Game 4: Thursday, Sep. 24 at 7 p.m. on TNT
Game 5 (if necessary): Saturday, Sep. 26 at 7 p.m. on TNT
Game 6 (if necessary): Monday, Sep. 28 on TNT
Game 7 (if necessary): Wednesday, Sep. 30 on TNT
It seems that TNT will be covering all of the games, so expect the dulcet tones of announcers Kevin Harlan and Reggie Miller for most of the series. We will see if they talk about how the Nuggets deserved to be there or how the Clippers missed an opportunity.
