With concerns throughout Nuggets Nation over George Karl’s health and with the NBA trade deadline approaching it might be good to read some other stories for a minute. Follow the jump for the tales of SB Nation writers who, thanks to T-Mobile, got to check out All-Star weekend first hand.
First things first, reader Phil H. chose Paul Pierce to win the Three-Point contest … Phil email me at [email protected] so we can get you your Denver Stiffs shirt!
Last week I spoke with Seth Pollack who runs the Phoenix Suns blog for SB Nation (Bright Side of The Sun) and he informed me that a couple of bloggers would be attending the All-Star festivities and writing about their experiences. Andrew Sharp and Matt of Blog-A-Bull have a couple great great pieces up about their experience.
- Andrew Sharp's piece can be found here. He put together a great Dunk-Rated hodge-podge of stories that include literally running into Jay-Z while leaving the bathroom and getting invited to the TNT All-Star after party by CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
- Matt’s piece can be found here. He has some great pictures from his seat in media row of Chauncey Billups and other current and former players.
- Anybody not seen Avatar yet? Well, the NBA has been stealing a page from the movie by recording All-Star games and NBA Finals since 2007 using 3-D technology. What does this mean? Well, according to Brett Pollakoff of FanHouse it means the NBA will ideally be able to broadcast to your home in 3-D. Pollankoff details it all in his piece here from the 11th annual Technology Summit on Friday (Feb. 12th) morning to kick off All-Star weekend.
- For some additional behind the scenes All-Star weekend photos and more check out The Score's Holly MacKenzie's photo journal of her time in Dallas.
- Where did players go besides Dallas? Well, Rasheed Wallace of the Boston Celtics was in the Bahamas, along with a slew of other NBA players. Check out his short story with some great quotes from Wallace and find out who Wallace calls, "The Big Head Dude." (Story from: Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald)
