The Denver Nuggets came into the 2019-20 season with mile high expectations. Coming off of a deep playoff run the year before, the young core of Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, and many others looked to build upon their success. The word “championship” became more than just a buzzword in the weeks leading up to the regular season.
In Breaking Basketball: A Nugglife Story, Nick Hertzog and Jeremy Poley, cohosts of The Dig: A Denver Stiffs Podcast retell the story of the 2019-20 season, exactly as it will happen. Like every season, there are ups and downs, unexpected twists, and, hopefully, a lot of fun moments. In the end, though, as always, is Nugglife.
This multipart docuseries begins in the preseason where questions abound, not just for the Nuggets, but for other Western Conference contenders as well. The Nuggets’ most pressing concern, however, is the starting small forward position. Breaking Basketball is a glimpse into a bright future for the Nuggets, but there are plenty of bumps along the way, and not just for the Nuggets’ players.
This series has been a lot of work, but we at The Dig and Denver Stiffs hope you will enjoy a creative twist on the standard season preview shows. Enjoy!
