The Denver Nuggets will hire Brian Shaw as head coach, according to the Denver Post’s Benjamin Hochman.
"I can't express my appreciation enough," Shaw told The Denver Post by phone Monday evening. "It's been a grind to say the least, but I'm just very appreciative of the opportunity to lead this team. … It's been years, 11-12 interviews I've gone through. And I've felt I've been prepared by the best of the best. You know, everything that's worth something, a lot of times you have to wait for it. I feel like I've waited and paid my dues.
"I feel honored and privileged that (Nuggets executives) Josh (Kroenke) and Tim (Connelly) have put faith in me that I'm the guy they want to grow with going forward."
I had a feeling Shaw would be the guy for the Nuggets and I'm excited about his future with the team. Hochman also reported via Twitter that Shaw is not planning on running the triangle in Denver.

Shaw is 47 years old and is thought be to a great player developmental guy. Shaquille O'Neal credited Shaw for his patience with Shaq and Kobe. Kobe Bryant wanted Shaw as his next head coach and plenty of teams have chased Shaw, but none were able to secure him.
I think Shaw is a great hire and someone who can really help out with this young roster and lead this team in a new direction.
