Shortly after the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics tipped off at TD Garden in Boston on Monday night, the Celtics ran a tribute video for former fan favorite and current Nugget, Isaiah Thomas.
Thomas played in 179 games with the Boston Celtics from 2015-2017, where he blossomed into an All-Star and MVP candidate. The Celtics famously moved on from IT when they acquired Kyrie Irving from the Cleveland Cavaliers in August of 2017, but his relationship with the fans and the city of Boston has remained strong.
Thomas, who was recently removed from Denver’s rotation by head coach Michael Malone, played in six minutes and fifty seconds during the opening half. He was scoreless in those minutes but recorded two assists before checking out.
