Justise Winslow from Duke University worked out for the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday June 10th. It was the Duke forward’s first appearance with the Denver Nuggets and could very well be a candidate for someone to be selected with the 7th pick in the NBA Draft.
Thoughts on Winslow: Tired. To be quite honest, Winslow missed a majority of the shots he took in this workout and seemed a bit on the lethargic side, having to take several breaks to breath and drink water with Nuggets Player Development executive Jared Jeffries. Now, this could be because the Nuggets worked him extra hard during the workout, or that he simply isn't used to the altitude. However it is worth pointing out.
It is also worth pointing out that workouts don't accurately tell the story about what a prospective draft pick can do. It's likely that the Nuggets made up their minds about Winslow long before he came to work out. You do, however, get a better feel of the player himself when you have direct contact with them. It will be interesting to see if Winslow makes it down to the 7th pick, as he projects to go anywhere from 4 to 8 at the latest.
