It’s been a very eventful week for the Denver Nuggets. On Wednesday, the team had their first scrimmage in Orlando, facing off against the Washington Wizards. Considering that the team was extremely short-handed as several players had yet to clear quarantine after entering the bubble, it became obvious early on that Nuggets’ rookie Bol Bol would probably see some minutes.
Earlier that week, Bol Bol’s name was circulating throughout social media after the Nuggets posted some highlights to their Twitter account, one of which included a pass from Nikola Jokic to Bol Bol that ended in a pretty impressive dunk.
Needless to say, fans were very much anticipating watching the rookie get his first minutes in an actual NBA game. I think it’s safe to say he did not disappoint. Bol Bol finished the game with 26 points on 6/14 shooting, in addition to notching 6 blocks and 10 rebounds. And no play was more impressive than this one:
As excited as fans are to see Bol Bol finally make his debut after a left foot injury sidelined him for the entire season pre-bubble, there’s probably nobody more excited than he is to finally play basketball again. He posted this to his Instagram account following the scrimmage:
Considering that this is the first game action Bol Bol has had since his injury over a year and a half ago, it’s unknown what role, if any, he will have in the playoffs this season. Still, if these highlights are any indication, Nuggets fans should be extremely excited for the future.
