A day after Jamal Murray exploded for 48 points against the Boston Celtics on Monday night, his Kentucky Wildcats faced off against the Duke Blue Devils in their season opener. The results were…less than desirable for Murray, I’m sure. The Wildcats were blown out, 118-84. Murray was apparently watching his alma matter as they were getting crushed and felt as though his talent may be of some use to the team. He made this plea via Twitter to his former coach, John Calipari:
Who can blame Murray for feeling as though he may be able to right the ship for his former team. He was coming off a game in which he went 19-30 from the field against one of the best defenses in the NBA in the Celtics. The Wildcats were obviously in dire straights on Tuesday night and could have used some of that explosiveness on the offensive end.
The Denver Nuggets should feel pretty lucky to have Murray on their team this week. The Wildcats will just have to look within their own roster to find success.
