The Nuggets first round pick finally broke the thirty point barrier last night. Emmanuel Mudiay had everything going for him last night against the Phoenix Suns and it resulted in his biggest scoring output of his young career. While the show may have been stolen a bit by fellow rookie Devin Booker’s big scoring night, Mudiay no doubt continued on the good play he’s been putting down post All Star break.
The most encouraging part of Mudiay’s big night has to be his 57% three point shooting. However, perhaps what is more encouraging is that Mudiay opened the game with three quick turnovers but from there on out he recollected himself, made ball security a priority and surrendered just one more turnover. Another thing that I noticed was how much he has improved with his finishing ability. On numerous occasions Mudiay used the rim and his body perfectly to protect his shot from being blocked, a skill that Andre Miller mastered in his time in Denver. Truly it was a special performance to watch, see for yourself.
