According to Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Denver Nuggets superstar center Nikola Jokic tested positive for coronavirus in Serbia last week.
Jokic and several Serbian athletes traveled to Belgrade to see off famous Serbian basketball coach Dejan Milojevic, who plans to coach in the NBA next season. Several other prominent athletes, including tennis superstar Novak Djokovic, also tested positive for coronavirus following the gathering.
The deadline for players to report back and participate in the Orlando bubble is July 7th. With it looking like Jokic should be ready to travel back to Denver within a week or so, the Nuggets will hopefully have their star big man back before training camp begins in Orlando.
On the bright side, Jokic has been asymptomatic for a week and seems to be well on his way to a full recovery. Here’s to hoping “The Joker” is back and better than ever when the NBA returns next month!
