In this episode of the Locked On Nuggets podcast, I evaluate the five main players on Denver’s summer league roster. Malik Beasley was the most intriguing. I discuss why I am a bit lower on him than most and why I think it will be hard to develop his skill set in Denver. Juan Hernangomez is one of my favorite prospects on the Nuggets roster but he too struggled in summer league, especially with his shot.
Monte Morris looked better as the tournament went on and has a fascinating skill set. He’s good at everything but limited by his size. Can he be a rotation piece on an NBA roster? Tyler Lydon was Denver’s first pick this draft but he looked lost for most of the tournament. He is an elite shooter but failed to get too many looks. How much of that was a product of a faulty summer league roster and how much of that was due to his lack of NBA skill? And lastly, I discuss Torrey Craig, a hustle player that might get a camp invite based on his impressive play.
