Many, myself included, expected the Dallas Mavericks to fall off precipitously this season. One thing has become clear, however, in this early season – never doubt Dirk Nowitzki or Rick Carlisle. at 9-7, the Mavs currently stand in 4th place in the Western conference. As for our Nuggets, the schedule makers have done Denver zero favors at the beginning of this year. They've faced the Spurs and the Warriors both twice, and they are now heading out on a five game road trip, although with some teams that aren't nearly as good as who they've faced recently.
Personally, I think this road trip will be a good thing for the Nuggets. It will give the team a chance to get away from the clear pressure they're feeling to bring the heat on their home floor. Right now, the team is struggling when things break down a bit. They fall into old habits of trying to take over the game individually, and get away from the principles that have shown real flashes of nice basketball. It will be interesting to see what kind of performance they put forth against Dallas.
