I have a confession to make. For the first time this season, I typed "New Orleans Hornets" when beginning to write this
game thread. I can only hope that the Nuggets aren't as inattentive today as I was.
Last time the Nuggets faced the Hornets Pelicans proved to be the final with Brian Shaw on the bench. Unlike many games in the last month under his reign, the Nuggets were competitive, ultimately losing by a score of 99-92. Since taking over for Shaw on an interim basis, Melvin Hunt has led the team to a 5-2 record, including wins over the top teams from each conference (we'll just ignore that the Warriors sat four of their best players, OK? OK!). Now, though, the Nuggets head out on the road for their next five games, facing 4 teams either playoff bound or fighting for a spot. How the team responds could prove important for Hunt's chances of landing the Nuggets coaching gig long term. Post your game thoughts here.
