Jamal Murray “only” had 14 points and 3 assists last night in the Denver Nuggets’ win over the Sacramento Kings but every single one of his buckets was gorgeous. It’s hard to pick a favorite but, if pressed, I’d take the 30-foot three-pointer he nailed from a few steps behind the arc.
The best part is that both Gary Harris and Jamal Murray have such great chemistry with Nikola Jokic, the team’s centerpiece. That means that the team has three guys that could, in theory, play together for years and years to come. Add in the promising upside of Juancho Hernangomez and you’ve gt yourself a nice core of skilled players that seem to fit together on the court with very little overlap.
Murray also appears to be getting better with each game that he has played since moving above Emmanuel Mudiay on the depth chart. He’s scored in double figures in 7 of his last 8 games and has shot 50% or better in 5 of those games. The future is bright for this kid!
