Jamal Murray is going to be good. Very good. Great, probably. The young point guard looks good when he gets minutes, something ahrd to come by with Denver’s deep bench. But make no mistake, Jamal Murray is a star. What impresses me most about the youngin is just how competitive he is. He plays so hard every second that he is on the floor, on both ends of the court. That hustle, combined with a strong work ethic, and so much skill and talent make this kid something exciting.
Tonight he scored 18 points and showed off three of his best skills – pick and roll playmaking, shooting, and finishing tough shots through contact. But what stood out the most were him taking, and making, the two biggest shots of the night. The first was a free-throw line jumper when the Suns had cut the lead to just eight early in the 4th quarter. The second was a clutch step back jumper that basically iced the game.
The future is bright, Nuggets fans!
