Nikola Jokic is in a slump. He’s shooting just 46.5% over his last seven games and averaging a disappointing 11.4 points per game. However, even in a slump, Jokic is pretty special. In that same time frame, Joker has dropped three triple doubles and is averaging 13.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists. Thus is the beauty of big honey, even when his scoring is down he still finds ways to help the team win. Tonight, for the second straight game, Jokic dropped a triple-double. This time to the tune of 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists.
It was the first time a Nuggets player has dropped back to back triple doubles since Fat Lever all the way back in the 80s!
Jokic is special. I don’t expect everyone to feel it like the die-hard Nuggets fans feel it but it’s hard to watch this guy play and not be excited about the future of the Denver Nuggets. It’s so hard to find a superstar in the NBA. Joker isn’t there yet, he still has some weaknesses in his game. But boy is he close. And on nights like last night and again tonight, Jokic controls the game like few players to wear the gold and blue ever have.
Enjoy the highlights! And please, let’s flood Pepsi Center with Serbian flags when the Nuggets play at home this Saturday. That seems to give him a boost!
