I’m telling you, Nikola Jokic has raised the bar so high that nights like tonight felt like an off night. He was matched up against two in-their-prime all stars in Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins in the front-court and didn’t outplay either of them. He didn’t necessarily get outplayed either but he wasn’t the star of the game by any means. Yet, if you look at the stat sheet, he still put up 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists on 10-18 shooting.
Joker is nuts and I thank my lucky stars every night that he is on our team. Despite the “mediocre” stat line, Jokic still had some nice highlight plays including a really nifty around-the-back layup that left Anthony Davis scratching his head.
