Nikola Jokic is averaging 8.9 assists over the last 10 games and 9.9 assists over the last seven games. His scoring is down and his shot isn’t falling but Jokic has been as good of a facilitator throughout this winning streak as he has at any point in his career. As a result, the Denver Nuggets are back to playing “Jokic-ball,” the unofficial name for Denver’s unique style of play that relies on quick ball movement and people movement to generate open looks.
Over the last 10 games, the Nuggets lead the league in assists and assist-to-turnover ratio, two of the key indicators of a healthy Jokic-ball offense. And those assists are often of the highlight variety. Like the no-look pass to a wide-open Juancho Hernangomez in the corner that Jokic threw early in the first quarter, a pass that didn’t even require Jokic to look Juancho’s direction throughout the play.
The ball was poppin for the Nuggets and Jokic was at the center of it all, just as he has been for the last 10 games. Check out the full highlights below as Jokic went for 12 points, 13 assists, and 8 rebounds en route to a team high +10 and most important of all, a Nuggets win.
