It was just another day at the office for reigning league MVP Nikola Jokic as he put together another phenomenal performance to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 102-96 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Jokic finished the night with 32 points on 14-of-19 shooting from the field, 2-of-3 from three to go along with 16 rebounds and seven assists. Jokic also had three steals and two blocks, but did commit six turnovers in the Nuggets 6-point victory.
Jokic did not just put up a big stat line, but he also made a few eye popping plays like this pass to Michael Porter Jr. in the first half:
How Jokic was able to fit that pass through two Spurs defenders defies all logic, but we are accustomed to seeing that here in Denver. The Nuggets go as Jokic goes and tonight there was no doubt Denver was going to come out victorious with #15 leading the way.
It’s still early in the season, but the way Jokic is playing feels like he is on the cusp of making another MVP run. There is no doubt if he continues to play the way he is playing it will be hard to keep him out of the conversation as not just one of the leagues MVP candidates, but as the MVP front-runner once again.
