While other players around the league campaign themselves — cough, cough James Harden — to be the leagues MVP, Nikola Jokic continues to just go out there and dominate the competition. The real MVP front runner was at it again on Friday night putting together a 37 point, nine assist, and six rebound performance together to lead the Nuggets to a 113-108 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Jokic did all that on an extremely efficient 17-of-30 shooting from the field, 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Not only did he score the ball, but Jokic also impacted the game defensively with two steals and one block.
It should also be mentioned that Jokic scored 37 points without attempting a single free throw. How one of the best players in the world does not attempt one free throw in a game is beyond me, but Jokic didn’t let that slow him down.
