Just another day at the office for Nikola Jokic as he helped lead the Nuggets to a Game 5 victory behind 38 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. Jokic made some incredibly big shots throughout the game as he was going toe-to-toe with Damian Lillard, who scored 55 points and set a playoff record with 12 made threes.
Jokic and the Nuggets never wavered though as they kept their foot on the gas even when Lillard was making shot after shot. Because of that, Denver now holds a 3-2 series advantage and will look to lock up the series Thursday night in Portland.
The Nuggets will look to avoid another Game 7, which has become a staple of their playoffs series over the past couple of seasons. With Jokic leading the way, there is certainly a chance Denver can eliminate Portland on Thursday night as long as they can find a way to slow down Lillard.
