The Denver Nuggets victory over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night at Ball Arena began with some dominant play by MVP front runner, Nikola Jokic.
Jokic: 24
Knicks: 12
That’s what the scoreboard would have read at the end of the first quarter if no one else scored for the Nuggets in the games opening 12 minutes. Luckily for Denver, they added 10 points to that and held a commanding 34-12 after one quarter of play, but the fact Jokic doubled New York’s score through 12 minutes was remarkable.
Jokic didn’t have to do much after that as the game was basically over after one quarter. Still, Jokic poured in 32 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field, 12-of-15 from the free-throw line. Jokic also hauled in 12 rebounds, dished out six assists, and made two steals in the victory.
