In this episode of the Locked On Nuggets podcast, I discuss my hope that the Denver Nuggets can swing a deal for Jae Crowder. The Celtics’ small forward is on an incredible deal and plays a style that should fit in nicely with this young Nuggets roster. He provides defense, cutting, and unselfishness. Adding him and Paul Millsap in the same off-season, as well as some expected internal improvement from the youngsters, would likely bring the Nuggets out of the bottom ten of the league in terms of defensive rating.
From there I turn my attention toward summer league and share what I’ll be looking for. Does Juancho Hernangomez stand out now that he has almost 1000 NBA minutes under his belt? Can Malik Beasley be the number one scoring option against this level of competition? What type of player is Tyler Lydon and is there reason to be hopeful the he breaks into the rotation down the road? And what about the point guard duo of Monte Morris and Nikola Radicevic?
Summer league is fun to attend and the Nuggets game should provide Nuggets fans something to talk about and, hopefully, get excited about.
