According to Nuggets.com, Quincy Miller has merely a sprained ankle, and not a fractured one that people feared when he suffered the injury on Wednesday night. This is good for Quincy who struggled with his shooting outside of a very good first game performance against the Toronto Raptors Summer League team. Quincy feared the worst when he went down in the game against the D-League select team … but it turns out that it wasn’t nearly as bad as it looked. Quincy will head back to Denver after tonight’s game against Julius Randle and the Lakers for more tests.
I tend to believe that Quincy’s place on the Nuggets roster is secure for this season. Although in the grand scheme of things I’m not sure how much playing time he will get behind Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler. It’s always good to have someone who has the defensive capabilities of Quincy on the roster. The Nuggets have until the first game of the season to pick up Quincy’s option for this year which is only $915,000. Definitely low-cost, low-risk.
