Jordan Davis, the former guard and standout at the University of Northern Colorado, will join the Denver Nuggets Summer League roster. Davis made the announcement himself on his personal twitter account early Friday morning:
Davis was in attendance at Denver’s only public pre-draft workout on June 4. He shined in the limited portions of the workout that were accessible to the media, and he was the lone invitee to field questions.
Davis, who stands 6’2” and weighs 185 lb., averaged just under 24 points per game during his senior season, when he was named the 2019 Big Sky MVP. He led his team in points, assists, and steals per game while leading the conference in scoring as well.
Davis has a relationship with his father that Nuggets fans might find familiar. Much like Jamal Murray, Davis is pushed by a man who is determined to help his son live his dreams. Among the many daily habits he instilled in Jordan, his father required 1000 calf raises before falling asleep each night while growing up—a ritual that helped the undersized guard increase his vertical leap.
“I might skip the pushups every now and then,” Davis said. “But I never skip the calves.”
