Former Denver Nuggets NBA draft bust, Julius Hodge, said on twitter yesterday that he purposefully tanked his pre-draft workout with the Denver Nuggets because he wanted to avoid playing for George Karl.
Unfortunately for Hodge (and for the Nuggets) his scheme did not work. Denver selected Hodge with the 20th pick in the 2005 NBA draft. He appeared in just 14 games with the Nuggets that season and another 4 the following season before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for Steve Blake. He played 5 games for the Bucks before being cut. He never returned to the NBA.
Hodge is most remembered (by me) as being the first guy Chris Paul punched below the belt.
