If the NBA season ended today, it would be hard to pick someone other than Nikola Jokic for the leagues MVP award. Not only has Jokic been a dominating force in pretty much every game this season, but he is continuously breaking records on a nightly basis.
Tuesday night in Milwaukee was no different as Jokic scored 37 points, dished out 11 assists, and hauled in 10 rebounds to lead the Nuggets to a 31-point victory on the second night of a back-to-back no less. Jokic now has nine triple-doubles on the season and 50 for his career.
Jokic is now part of an exclusive club that features just nine players in NBA history that have reached the milestone of at least 50 career triple-doubles. The list also includes: James Harden (53), Larry Bird (59), Wilt Chamberlain (78), LeBron James (97), Jason Kidd (107), Magic Johnson (138), Russell Westbrook (156), and Oscar Robertson (181). An elite club to say the least.
Congrats are in order for Jokic as he continues to carry the Nuggets night after night. If he keeps this up, there is no way Jokic won’t be the leagues MVP when the season is all said and done.
