The NBA is doing a phenomenal thing as they get ready to resume play in the Orlando bubble. With the recent events of social injustice and police brutality around the nation, the league is allowing players to put a social justice statement on the back of their jersey.
Not all players have chosen to wear one and will still be allowed to display their last name on the back of their jersey. In the Nuggets case, the team announced yesterday what some of the players are planning to display on the back of their jerseys when play resumes.
Only three players were excluded from the announcement — Will Barton, Jerami Grant, and Nikola Jokic — but Barton and Grant have been very outspoken over the past month, while Jokic has been dealing with things in Serbia.
Just the other day, the media was provided a chance to chat with Michael Malone after practice in which he described what he would put on the back of his uniform if he had one.
The statements on the back of these jerseys are subject to change, but as of now this is what you will see when the Nuggets take the floor in a little over a week.
