The Nuggets sit just one game behind the Dallas Mavericks for the No. 6 seed (essentially two games as the Mavs hold the tiebreaker over Denver) and just a game and a half ahead of the Suns and Jazz for the final playoff spot out West. Enter Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns this afternoon at the US Airways Center.

Opposition’s Take: Bright Side of the Sun

Beating the Suns is always a case of how to stop Steve Nash. The pick-and-roll game is Nash's bread-and-butter and he'll be trying to utilize that today against the Denver defense.

No word yet on whether or not Robin Lopez will be suspended for today’s game for his flagrant foul on Blake Griffin on April 19th. The Suns were able to do something the Nuggets were not in their last games. Phoenix was able to pull off the comeback and defeat the Clippers, 93-90, a night after Chris Paul and Company were able to hold-off a Nuggets come-back (thanks in a small part to a blown call on an Andre Miller steal that was called a foul on CP3).

There sure isn’t much left to say at this point in the season. The Nuggets will need to control the pick-and-roll game and minimize the damage by Marcin Gortat (14 points and 14 rebounds vs. the Clippers). The Nuggets haven’t had issues scoring against the Suns this season, so stopping their offense is the obvious key to this one.
