As I noted a few days ago, Colorado State center Colton Iverson will be in town to workout for Denver. Along with Iverson, Missouri point guard Phil Pressey is also among the 12 players scheduled to take part in a predraft workout for the Nuggets.
Three names I'm very excited to see at this workout: wing Reggie Bullock out of North Carolina, guard Nate Wolters out of South Dakota State, and center/power forward Mike Muscala out of Bucknell.
Bullock is a sharp-shooter and a good defender. He could be climbing the draft charts and be out of reach for the Nuggets at No. 27 if things go right for him at these workouts.
Wolters is an underrated player that is known for his tremendous workout discipline. He is said to be working out three or four times a day in preparation to the draft and it's said that coaches will fall in love with this student of the game.
Muscala is a sweet shooting big man with an array of post moves. He has been climbing the draft boards and could play his way into being a first round pick, although he has been a second round name in most mock drafts.
They are scheduled to be joined by Mississippi forward Reggie Buckner, Saint Mary’s guard Matt Dellavedova, Wake Forest guard C.J. Harris, Gonzaga forward Elias Harris, Providence guard Ricky Ledo, North Texas forward Tony Mitchell and Kansas center Jeff Withey. Players are subject to change as we saw last year when Draymond Green and Royce White cancelled their expected visits.
From the Nuggets announcement:
Iverson, 7-0, 255, was named the 2012-13 Mountain West Newcomer of the Year and landed a spot on the All-MWC First Team after averaging 14.2 points and 9.8 rebounds for the Rams. He also shot a conference-leading .596 from the field.
Pressey, 5-11, 175, is the son of former NBA player Paul Pressey. He is Missouri’s career assist leader and was selected to the 2012-13 All-SEC First Team.
