Over 148 days of infighting amongst owners, glowering players (Kevin Garnett), weird spur of the moment appearances by random owners (Paul Allen), and public bickering, players disclaiming interest in their union and suing the league – and now, the 2011 NBA Lockout is finally over …

… and there was much rejoicing. Yaaaaaaay!!!

After a marathon 15 hour negotiating session on Friday November 25th…the NBA and it's players agreed in principal to a deal pending reformation of the Players union and vote by the 450 players. Pending approval this approval (along with the owners) play is scheduled to begin on Dec. 25th. Christmas Day.

No ladies and gentlemen, we weren't forced to eat Robin's minstrels. We finally have an NBA season. Go crazy folks, go crazy! I, for one, am absolutely extatic that I no longer have to focus on such horrible things like Basketball Related Income, hard salary caps, luxury taxes, revenue sharing, and other "system issues."

Now it’s time to talk about the DENVER FREAKIN’ NUGGETS!! Can you feel it? Let’s get excited and run through the streets (well, maybe not). Remeber that? Let’s talk about Ty Lawson, Danilo Gallinari, Arron Afflalo, Kenneth Faried, Jordan Hamilton, Andre Miller, Chris Andersen, Timofey Mozgov, and Kosta Koufos. How about we talk about if Al Harrington will get amnestied? What is amnestied? We’ll explain as things unfold. Let’s talk about who the Nuggets might sign (more to come on that in the coming days).

The nuances of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement will emerge as the process moves along, one thing we do know is that the CBA retains sign-and-trade deals (but perhaps with some new wrinkles.) This was very surprising to some of us. Discuss below.

As substantial details emerge we will be updating everything right here in this post! So, refresh your browser as the hours wear on … basketball is back!
