The Jazz have won four of their last six, and the two losses in that string were by a total of eight points.

Etc… 24 teams currently have better records than your Denver Nuggets. And that number may jump by the end of the season. It only goes to 29.

Two former Northwest Division powerhouses square off at the Pepsi Center in the midst of a Colorado cold snap, both for the Denver Nuggets and Kathy Sabine. The Nuggets have been so stone cold as to have last won at Pepsi Center on January 14th, 44 motherflubbing days ago. Three-and-a-half generations of Virginia opossums have been born since Denver's last home win.

Utah comes to Denver in the midst of one of their better streaks of play all season long, and recently passed the Nuggets in the standings with wins over San Antonio, Portland, New Orleans, and Sacramento. No slouches amongst that crew, so Utah may be putting a few things together to close out their season. Leading scorer Gordon Hayward is averaging nearly 20 points per game (19.6), and Derrick Favors averages 15.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game himself.

On the home bench, Denver is mired in one of its worst losing streaks in years, and the litany of injuries, communications gaps, dramatic events, and general falderal have been well-chronicled on these pages. Denver also went from a glut of power forwards to a near-deficit in short order, and will be thin down low tonight with recent injuries to Darrell Arthur, Kenneth Faried, Jusuf Nurkic, and Wilson Chandler leaving Denver with only JJ Hickson, Joffrey Lauvergne, and Danilo Gallinari of any size. Look for some small ball lineups out of Denver tonight, good or bad.

A few keys to a Denver victory tonight:

Win a quarter. In the 76 quarters that comprise this 17-of-19 losing streak, Denver has only won 24 of the same. And it's felt like far less. Denver needs to gain consistency from whoever is on the floor, a tall order given the insults and injuries.

Run, Forrest. Anyone who can run the break for Denver tonight ought to try. At this point, what do you have to lose? Have a little fun out there, even. You might actually win one.

It’s a small world after all. With some of the small lineups Brian Shaw may be forced to trot out tonight, it will help to be harmonious. Ty Lawson will need to rev up his already-high assists game tonight, as Denver will need to find the open man with the extra pass a lot tonight, as we may be at a size disadvantage, depending on what Utah decides to counter with.

Will you be watching tonight, Nuggets Nation? What are you still enjoying when watching this team during a tough-to-watch patch of games? Will tonight's Jazz contest be scat, or scat?
