Forgive the brief recap, Valentines day and what not.
The Denver Nuggets looked to vanquish their biggest foe tonight: the Los Angeles Lakers. Nikola Jokic started off strong once again as he turned in another stellar performance and secured another triple double. He got plenty of support from his running mate Jamal Murray who also had a fantastic evening. There wasn’t a ton of defense to speak of on either side so Jokic and Murray were matched by LeBron James, in the first half at least. Anthony Davis got off to a hot start as well but had to leave before half time with what looked like an achilles injury. That turned the tide in Denver’s favor and they once again built a big lead on the Lakers by halftime. There would be no second half collapse this time around as the Nuggets were able to grow their lead in the third quarter and never look back. Zeke Nnaji had a very strong performance off the bench in the absence of Paul Millsap who also had to leave the game after the first half. The fourth quarter was nothing but garbage time. Lakers roll over and get blown out, ending their win streak at seven games. Here’s some highlights.
