Report: Nuggets sign Monte Morris to three-year, $27 million extension

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Denver Nuggets have agreed to a three-year, $27 million extension with backup point guard, Monte Morris.

This is a great deal for both Morris and the Nuggets. Morris was scheduled to be a free agent at the end of season, but will now be around in Denver for the long-term on an extremely well deserved and team friendly contract.

Denver lucked out with Morris drafting him 51st overall back in the 2017 NBA Draft. Morris somehow fell into the Nuggets lap after a tremendous career at Iowa State and has played a key role in the Nuggets success over the past few seasons and has been as steady a backup point guard as you’ll find in the NBA.

In 158 games with the Nuggets, Morris is averaging a solid 9.6 points and 3.5 assists per game. Morris has also been one of the Nuggets best three-point shooters over the past few seasons as he’s a career 39.8 percent from beyond the arc.
