Jamal Murray has been playing at an all-star level to start the season and that continued Sunday night against the Phoenix Suns. Murray went for 22 points on 9-of-21 shooting from the field to go along with seven rebounds and three assists.
Murray shot 4-of-11 from beyond the arc and chipped in a steal on defense. This performance came just two days after Murray hit some big shots to help lead the Nuggets past the Boston Celtics.
On the season, Murray is now averaging a team high 18.9 points per game. Murray is also leading the Nuggets in shots (16.5), threes (5.7), and steals (1.5) per game. Nikola Jokic leads Denver is assists per game with 6.1, but Murray is not far behind with five dimes per contest.
Another stat that really stood out from Murray’s performance against Phoenix is that he committed zero turnovers. Murray has done great job of taking care of the basketball this season — while also getting his teammates involved — which is something that continued on Sunday night.
