When the Nuggets took the floor on Wednesday night in Utah, they only have seven healthy bodies to play for 48 minutes. Luckily for the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic was the best player on the floor — per usual — as Denver captured arguably their greatest regular season victory in the franchises history.
It was an absolutely unreal performance from the Joker as the Nuggets big man picked up his 11th triple-double of the season behind 30 points, 21 rebounds (tied a career-high), and 10 assists. Jokic now has 39 career triple-doubles and is just the ninth player in NBA history to post a 30-20-10 game.
Not only did Jokic put up big numbers, but he almost played every minute in the game. Jokic played 40 minutes for the third time this season, he played 43 against Golden State earlier this year and 40 in a game against Phoenix. The difference in those games is both went to overtime, which was not the case in Utah on Wednesday night.
That bucket came with just over a minute remaining and gave the Nuggets a 1-point lead, which also ended up being the game wining shot. Another clutch shot for Jokic, who has solidified himself as one of — if not the most — clutch player in the league.
