The Denver Nuggets have one of the best basketball players in the world and his name is Nikola Jokic. Not only did Jokic lead the Nuggets to their first Western Conference Finals appearance since 2009, but he did it without even looking to have broken a sweat.
Jokic recorded his fifth career playoff triple-double scoring 16 points, hauling in 22 rebounds, and dishing out 13 assists. It was the second time Jokic recorded a triple-double in a Game 7 and it was his first in this year’s playoffs.
The Clippers truly had no answer for how to slow down Jokic as he just absolutely shredded them all game long. Los Angeles often sent double teams at Jokic, which allowed him to find the open man and get the Nuggets easy baskets all game long.
There is no doubt who the best player was — on either team — in this series and his name was Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets found a way to overcome a 3-1 deficit for the second consecutive series and Jokic played a massive role in that.
